The base application for LCMS Enterprise version provides for tracking, administration, development and delivery of learning materials
structure according to module objectives. To create and track training by skill competency or mastery, refer to our
Competency version.
Note: Should you have training materials that are developed to both
methods, you can purchase the competency as a module and track some training by module objectives and other course material by skill competencies.
However, courses will need to be written and tracked in separate databases for the two methods of tracking. This occurs because
testing, employee training history and course materials are all tracked with different approaches for competency from objectives.
Track and use supplemental online course resources:
- Glossary of terms
- Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
- Reference materials and bibliographies
- White papers
- E-mail
- Chat
- Whiteboard
- Threaded discussions with search feature
- Built-in Collaboration feature -- as part of the class creation process, a discussion group/announcement board is automatically generated
- Self-contained database
- MS SQL Server database supported
- Ablity to include synchronous forms of learning -- Centra, Microsoft Netmeeting, and LearnLink
- Online help
Available modular components:
- Human Capital Development Module This module provides for job definitions, automated enrollment in courses based on job assignment, scheduling and e-mail notification.
When implemented with the Competency Based Training Module, this module provides for specification of courses and competencies required by jobs.
The offerings that are automatically generated are based on a schedule common to all learners or differentiated for each. In the latter case, an individuals start dates determine course scheduling.
- Competency Based Training Module When implemented with the Human Capital Development Module, this module provides for the definition of competencies associated with jobs and assignment of competencies to jobs. Without the Human Capital Development Module, this module provides for the definition and assignment of competencies to courses; the measurement of mastery; and reporting of mastery, non-mastery, and the differential between requirements and achievement. Content and testing are developed relative to competencies and course development is a process of competency selection and sequencing. Mastery of a competency remains with the individual's history across courses (and job assignments when this module is implemented with the Human Capital Development Module). Learners' course maps change to reflect prior mastery of competencies.
- Customization Module The labels and levels that reflect the academic or corporate environment can be modified as they are used within Enterprise LCMS. For example, terms such as "course," "module," "objective," or "learner" can be re-defined as "program," "unit," "competency," or "employee."
- Live Action Module This Module enhances the communications capabilities of the base Enterprise LCMS application. It allows Enterprise LCMS users to conduct real-time trainings, meetings and presentations without having to travel to the participant's location. Use the Live Action Module to bring groups of people together in a Web-conferencing format, to view Power Point presentations, to discuss course materials, to conduct surveys or otherwise communicate in real time.
- Report Writer Module This module provides a means to identify any data components stored by Enterprise LCMS and to define relationships between data types. This provides for reports that, for example, reveal the effectiveness of test questions, number of times a question is answered, number of times a question is answered correctly, number of times a question is answered partially correctly, number of times a question is not answered, and graphic representation of response distribution.
- Survey Module This module provides different response schemes (yes/no, multiple choice, recommendation, count, agree/disagree, always/never, Likert scale) with reporting to produce data including question statements
- SCORM Meta-tag Module This module enables users to select certain meta-tags to categorize objects in the curriculum repository. There are 100+ SCORM meta-data tags. This module allows the administrator to select those suited to the present implementation. The tags are then associated with the curriculum repository and on search pages. Examples of tags include those associated with creation date, author, copyrights control, and medium.

Development objectives for the Enterprise version include:
1. Improved performance in resource utilization (minimal personnel and computer costs
2. Minimize Power Needs - maximizing the server power with minimum server requirements.
Chose .NET over J2EE platform due to response time versus user load studies)
3. Scalable to client operations (modular development enables client to add features as needed)
4. Adaptable to client operations admin structure in authoring LMS asset accessibility
5. Adhere to Standards (AICC and SCORM) limited to SCO created in the authoring LMS
6. Time & Space Blending Common management system to support blended solutions
General Systems Specifications / Requirements:
The following is a general outline of the type of requirements that
are involved in running our Learning Management Systems. Contact us directly
to obtain the most recent information (also available from the Help link in the product itself).
Web Server Requirements for Installing Enterprise LCMS
Enterprise LCMS web server recommendations are as follows:
- A one- or two-Pentium processor server running at 2 GHz or faster
with
- 1024 MB of RAM is recommended.
- Windows 2000 Server SP2, Windows 2000 Advanced Server SP2, Windows
2000
- Professional, Windows XP Professional, Windows (.NET) Server 2000
- Microsoft Internet Information Server 5.0 (or higher)
- Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1. The Enterprise LCMS installation CD includes
the installer,
- dotnetfx.exe, in the folder named Framework.
- SQL Server 2000 (or higher) *.
If SQL Server is not installed, the LCMS software installation CD includes the Microsoft
SQL Server Desktop Engine. Information about MSDE is
published at http://www.microsoft.com/sql/msde. The database can
reside on
the same server as the LCMS software or can be on a separate server.
- Disk space requirements vary depending on the size of the implementation.
- Ensure that the server’s capacity can be easily expanded as
required.
-
It is recommended that the LCMS application server be a dedicated server. There
is a potential for conflicts between different ODBC versions and
shared DLLs if the LCMS and other applications are running on the same
server. However,
previous versions of our LCMS can run without problems on the same
server as our Enterprise LCMS.
-
Earlier versions of SQL Server; for example, 6.5 or 7 are not compatible
with our Enterprise LCMS.
Client Requirements for Running our Enterprise LCMS
Recommendations for client computers of Enterprise LCMS developers, instructors, administrators,
and learners are as follows:
- A Pentium 750 processor with 256 MB of RAM
- Windows NT 4.0, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 2000, or Windows
XP
- Internet Explorer 6 (or higher)
- Macromedia's Flash player (for developers, instructors, and administrators)
We support:
- A single workstation
- A designated number of LAN workstations
- An unlimited number of LAN workstations
- Enterprise systems with multiple facilities. Integration of
remote sites is supported.
